The Government of Tamil Nadu
created a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) for implementing the Chennai
Metro Rail Project. This SPV named as “Chennai Metro Rail Limited
(CMRL)” was incorporated on 03-12-2007 under the Companies Act. It has
been converted into a Joint Venture of Government of India and
Government of Tamil Nadu with equal equity holding. CMRL requires
efficient, experienced and competent officials for the following posts,

Asst. Manger (Audit) – 01 Post Post No.1: Deputy General Manager (Operations) – 01 Post
Must be a Graduate Engineer in Electrical Engineering or Electronics or Communication Engineering or a combination of any of these disciplines. Minimum 10 years overall experience in Railway Operation in Electrified Sections with Automatic Signalling System in Main Line Railway Divisions OR minimum 5 years overall experience in handling Operations in any Metro Railway.
Experience in Operation of EMUs, managing operation control centre (OCC), in management of EMU Car Sheds in Main Line Railway Divisions OR experience in
Operation of trains in Automatic Signalling Territories with Train Management System in Main Line Railways will be an added advantage. Must have adequate
experience in handling / managing works / service contracts. Exceptional candidates with wide experience, working at senior levels now, can be considered for
appointment as Joint General Manager with scale of pay of Rs.36,600 -62,000 at CMRL’s discretion. Age: Not above 40 years as on date of advertisement.
Post No. 2: Deputy General Manager (Train Control & Safety) – 01 Post
Must be a Graduate in Science or Maths. Post Graduates will be preferred. Minimum 10 years overall experience, out of which atleast 3 years in the Managerial
Cadre in Railway Operations and Train Control in Electrified and Automatic Signalled territories in Main Line Railways OR Minimum 5 years overall experience
in Managerial Cadre in train Operation in any Metro Railway.
Should have been directly involved in managing day to day Train Control and Supervision, Punctuality, Time Tabling, Master Charting of trains and Crew
Management. Should have good knowledge of all Safety Rules, Accident / Disaster Management and related procedures and Training of Operation Staff. Age: Not
above 40 years as on date of advertisement.
Post No.3:Deputy General Manager (Signalling & Telecommunications) – 01
Must be a bachelor in Electronics & Communication Engineering with minimum 10 years experience including experience in contract management, design, installation,
testing & commissioning of metro or main line railway S&T system.
Should have signalling project experience in tendering, design, installation, testing, commissioning and operations / maintenance of Metro /main line railway with
distance to go/CBTC, TPWS with electronic interlocking, route relay interlocking having AFTC and other AC/DC track circuit. Experience in tendering , design,
installation and commissioning of backbone OFC, copper and other cables, SDH, digital, analogue, HF/VHF, microware, MUX equipment ; TETRA equipment,
commissioning of LAN, WAN, server equipment , various types of digital and analogue exchanges, Public Address System, Audio/video surveillance systems will be an added advantage. Experience in Platform Screen Doors preferable. Age : Not above 40 years as on date of advertisement.
Post No.4 : Deputy General Manager (Tunnel Ventilation System / Airconditioning) – 01 Post
Degree holder in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering with 10 years of experience preferably in Rail Transit Tunnel/Station Ventilation and Air-conditioning, Control
System of ventilation / air conditioning installations and other MEP plants in underground railway projects. Similar experience in a large dynamic environment
like Airport with heavy passenger movement and automated equipments in elevated and underground structures may also be considered. Job involves resolving technical
issues related to design review and facilitate installation, testing, commissioning, operation and maintenance of Rail transit Tunnel ventilation and station Airconditioning. Familiarity with usage / analysis of Tunnel ventilation design software, Fans and controls, SCADA, Fire safety code NFPA, AMCA, ASHRAE, CENELEC
& other codes will be an added advantage. Should have exposure to Energy Management, Quality Management, Safety and Environment Management.
Knowledge in Autocad, MS Project and Excel Preferred. Age: Not above 40 years as on date of advertisement.
Age : Candidate should have 50 years for General Manager Posts, 40 years for Deputy General Manager Posts, 47 years for Additional GM Post, 38 years for Manager Posts and 35 years for Deputy Manager, 30 years for Asst. Manager Posts.
Qualification: Candidate should possess B.E/ B.Tech/ M.E/ M.Tech/ PG Diploma/ CA/ ICWA.
Selection: Selection can be done on the basis of performance in interview.
